The short version
The Society for Veterans Entertainment (“S4VE,” “we,” “us”) is a
501(c)(3) nonprofit. We collect only what we need to support the veteran community, we never sell your
information, and you can email info@s4vevets.org at any time to
update or delete what we have on file.
What we collect, and why
- Form submissions (volunteer interest, partnership inquiries, in-kind offers,
newsletter signups, gaming program interest): the fields you fill in on the form, plus the page
you submitted from. We use this to follow up about the thing you asked about.
- Community membership: when you create a Circle community account, Circle.so stores
your email, display name, and profile information you choose to share. See
Circle’s privacy policy
for their data practices.
- Donations: processed by Givebutter. We see your name, email, and amount; payment
details are handled by Givebutter and never touch S4VE’s systems. See
Givebutter’s privacy
policy.
- V-Blog reading: when you submit your email through the V-Blog “keep
reading” card, we add you to the same newsletter list as the footer signup. The fade-out is
not a paywall — your email unlocks the rest of the article and our weekly briefings.
- Anonymous analytics: PostHog, with autocapture turned off, and we honor the Do Not
Track browser signal. We track what pages get read and which articles drive donations or signups
— at the page level, not at the individual reader level — so we can spend our small budget on the
content veterans actually want.
Who we share information with
We share your information only with the platforms we use to operate:
- Circle.so — community hosting and member directory.
- Givebutter — donation processing.
- Make.com — automation that connects the platforms above.
- PostHog — product analytics, hosted in the United States.
- Vercel and Cloudflare — hosting and DNS for s4vevets.org.
We do not sell your information. We do not run advertising. We do not buy data from third parties to
enrich profiles.
Cookies and tracking
We use a single first-party analytics cookie (PostHog) to count returning readers. We do not run
cross-site tracking pixels, retargeting ads, or social-media trackers. If your browser sends Do Not
Track, we honor it and skip analytics entirely.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- See what information we have on file for you.
- Update anything that’s wrong.
- Delete your information from our active systems.
- Unsubscribe from emails (the link is in every email; you can also email us).
Email info@s4vevets.org with the subject “Privacy
request” and a S4VE volunteer will respond within 14 days.
Veterans Crisis Line
If you or a veteran you know is in crisis, contact the Veterans Crisis Line at

S4VE is not a clinical service and we cannot provide crisis intervention.
Children
S4VE’s programs are designed for adult veterans, families, and supporters. We do not knowingly
collect information from children under 13. If we learn we have, we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects how we use your information, we’ll update the
“Last updated” date above and email registered members with a summary of what changed.
