Our Story
Why S4VE Exists
Military service creates something powerful: connection. The camaraderie of a team. The friendships, the shared experiences, the laughter, the competition, the feeling that someone has your back. When service ends, that sense of community can be hard to replace.
S4VE was born from the vision of Kenneth “Kool” Clay, who saw something easy to overlook: veterans don’t stop being part of a community when they leave the military. They just need a new one to belong to. So he started with what veterans already understand—fellowship, teamwork, competition, entertainment and a good time with people who get it.
Gaming became a gateway. Entertainment became a gathering place. Storytelling became a way to connect. And fellowship became the foundation. From those connections come new possibilities: wellness, new interests, resources, friendships and simply enjoying life. Sometimes the first step toward a better tomorrow is having somewhere to go today.

Meet the Founder
Kenneth E. “Kool” Clay
Founder & Executive Director · U.S. Army and Air Force Veteran
Kenneth “Kool” Clay is a U.S. Army and Air Force veteran, a documentary producer and the founder of Society 4 Veterans Entertainment. He built S4VE around a simple belief: veterans don’t need to be fixed. They need somewhere to belong, and people who get it.
Raised on the South Side of Chicago, Clay grew up in museums, stage plays and the city’s cultural institutions, which shaped his creative eye. After his service he volunteered at the Long Beach VA Hospital in the Patient Advocate Care Program, where he spent time listening to veterans searching for respect, connection, recognition and renewed purpose. Those conversations became the reason S4VE exists.
Clay is a journeyman producer with Creative Control TV. He was a field producer on ESPN’s 30 for 30: Benji and on BET’s Muhammad Ali: The People’s Champ, which won the 2016 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Documentary, and co-executive producer of Who Is Ernie Barnes. His work also includes Legacy of a King, A Kid From Coney Island, NYC Point Gods, The First to Do It and a U.S. Marine Corps national recruitment campaign for Uniworld Group: storytelling that preserves culture, history and legacy.
Under his leadership, S4VE is building a model of arts, gaming and entertainment programming that brings morale, creativity and inclusion to veterans of every age and background, giving them spaces to reconnect, express themselves and ease the isolation that can follow service.

Jennet L. Posey

A multimedia professional with experience in film, radio, television, newspaper and corporate communications, and an Iraq veteran. Jennet is CEO of LeConcrete Sunflower, LLC, a female-owned, minority veteran company in New York.

Jennet Posey is a multimedia professional whose goal has always been to leave a positive, lasting mark on the world and to excel in media. A Chicago native and a graduate of Columbia College Chicago, she has worked across film, radio, television, newspaper and corporate communications, including compliance work at NBCUniversal Media in New York. Colleagues describe her as personable, hard-working and deadline-driven; she served a tour in Iraq and believes no challenge is too difficult. She is CEO of LeConcrete Sunflower, LLC, a female-owned, minority veteran company based in New York.
LuMarcus Certain
Communications Manager · U.S. Navy Veteran
A Navy aircrewman whose travels introduced him to new foods, cultures and music. Today LuMarcus is a SAG-AFTRA actor who appears in military scenes on screen.

LuMarcus Certain served in the United States Navy as an aircrewman. His travels around the world introduced him to new foods, cultures and music, deepening his understanding of people and his appreciation for creation. For LuMarcus, military service was more than a duty: it was a profound honor and a defining chapter of his life. He is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and appears in military scenes in film and television.
Allison Fleminger
Artistic Director & Programs Curator · Board Member
An arts educator and program leader who expands access to creative expression through community programs. The daughter of a Vietnam veteran, Allison holds a master’s in Theater Education from NYU.

Allison Fleminger is an arts educator and program leader dedicated to expanding access to creative expression through community-based initiatives. She began her career as a teaching artist with ArtsConnection, working in schools across New York City while earning her master’s degree in Theater Education from NYU. She is the daughter of a Vietnam veteran.

A ten-year Army veteran and 25-year film and television professional. Maalik is an actor and stuntman seen in Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., Empire and more.

Maalik Armour is a U.S. Army Desert Storm veteran and a film and television professional with more than 25 years in the industry. Born and raised in Chicago, he began as a production assistant and worked his way through music videos, commercials, television series and feature films. That experience behind the camera shapes his work today as an actor and stuntman, with appearances in Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., Shameless, Empire and Power Book IV: Force. He is a member of IATSE and SAG-AFTRA. His ten years of Army service and his creative career make him a strong advocate for storytelling, discipline and representation in the arts.

A Certified Business Consultant from Tucson, Arizona, and the spouse of a retired Army Colonel. Patricia helped set up S4VE’s business structure, board and bylaws.
